We are a warm, friendly group of Christians who will welcome you at the door. There is always an Order of Service, so you will know what is going on and you can sit wherever you like. If you want to talk, we will talk, if you just want to take your time and find your own way, we will not bother you.
We are pleased to say we have appointed a new Minister Angela Rigby who joined us on the 30th September, jointly with Tonbridge URC. We look forward to her thoughtful leadership and guidance. More information about Angela Click here
Our services will be being taken by Angela as well as the wide range of retired ministers, lay preachers and members of our own congregation who have been our mainstay during our long period of interregnum.
We like to involve everyone. We sing a mixture of old and new hymns and try to balance new and old ideas. There are toys available and we like children involved in the first part of our services before leaving for Sunday Club downstairs. We all come together at the end of the Service for tea, coffee and a chat. You will be invited to stay but not pressured to do so.
We have a few young families but most of us are older. We come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences and there are many opportunities to meet together socially.
As Christians we believe that we are responsible for developing our own faith, guided by the Holy Spirit and that Jesus, our Saviour, lives within us, as our example. We believe that we worship God, not just on Sundays but through our behaviour every day of the week.
We are keen to help our local community in the St John’s area and if you need help we will visit you, if you ask us. Our Sunday Service always starts at 10.30 am. Come on a visit, we would like to meet you.
