In Sunday Club we focus on providing a welcoming and enjoyable experience for children of all ages.
Everyone is encouraged to participate in the beginning of each Sunday morning service in the Sanctuary upstairs, and then a team of Sunday Club leaders invite the children to join them in the halls downstairs for singing, stories, games and craft activities. We have a wide variety of toys available to help our Leaders entertain babies and toddlers!
Parents are welcome to accompany their children and join in the fun, but all Leaders have appropriate DBS checks and are fully prepared to care for babies and children. This enables parents to appreciate the opportunity to worship with other adults while their children enjoy activities appropriate for their age and interests.
We do not present a formally structured curriculum, but follow a basic theme for each term which gives us a framework to introduce children to Bible stories and Christian values using a wide range of resources. We aim to create displays for the boards which advertise what we do to all Church users.
We have been talking about Prayers, and how we can pray in different ways.
We can pray to say ‘Sorry’ for mistakes we have made, and ask God for forgiveness.
We can pray to say ‘Thank You’ for something we are grateful for.
We can pray to ask for help for people or situations – both near where we live or anywhere in the wide world.
We looked at the Prayer that Jesus taught us, and found out that it has been translated into many different languages.
Have a look at some of these on the board in the Small Hall, and see if you can guess the languages! Some of them are quite tricky!
