In Sunday Club we focus on providing a welcoming and enjoyable experience for children of all ages.
Everyone is encouraged to participate in the beginning of each Sunday morning service in the Sanctuary upstairs, and then a team of Sunday Club leaders invite the children to join them in the halls downstairs for singing, stories, games and craft activities. We have a wide variety of toys available to help our Leaders entertain babies and toddlers!
Parents are welcome to accompany their children and join in the fun, but all Leaders have appropriate DBS checks and are fully prepared to care for babies and children. This enables parents to appreciate the opportunity to worship with other adults while their children enjoy activities appropriate for their age and interests.
We do not present a formally structured curriculum, but follow a basic theme for each term which gives us a framework to introduce children to Bible stories and Christian values using a wide range of resources. We aim to create displays for the boards which advertise what we do to all Church users.
The Services between Easter and Pentecost followed a theme exploring the events that happened during that time, and in Sunday Club our sessions followed the same theme. We made footprints to follow the Road to Emmaus and pretended to go fishing in Galilee! We made a collage of flames to represent the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, and discovered how to say ‘Hello’ in many different languages.
Our summer programme will follow the travels of the early Christians as they spread the message about Jesus around the world.
Join us on our travels as we find out what happened to Saul on the road to Damascus, and how his new friends helped him with a daring escape plan.
Saul changed his name to Paul, and went on many dangerous journeys. How did he survive being shipwrecked in a storm?
How did he write so many letters to new Christians? There were no computers then, so he couldn’t press ‘send’!
We will be having fun with sending messages in different ways during the summer, so come along and join in the excitement!
