Our service included stories, songs and surprises for everyone to enjoy!
As everyone arrived, they were greeted by the bunting made by Sunday Club, and discovered a tent had been pitched!
It was soon apparent that all the songs, prayers, readings and activities were related to the theme of the service – God’s love is our shelter.
All the children were fully involved, and even families who were unable to join us on the day had contributed to the preparations!
Part of the service included a challenge to build a shelter, and the children worked as a team to create a cosy den using chairs and a selection of sheets.
This was also the first element of our Sunday Club Challenge, which was a sponsored event to raise funds for the Organ Rebuild Project.
After the service, the Challenge events continued in the Small Hall.
The second challenge was to work co-operatively with a partner to move tennis balls from one container to another.
The next challenges were inspired by the words of ‘Our God is a great big God’.
‘Taller than a skyscraper’ was a solo challenge to build a tower of bricks as tall as possible in a minute.
‘Deeper than a submarine’ required a collage to be created depicting a sea scene and adding a suitable craft!
‘Wider than the universe’ was an opportunity for more creativity.
Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a BBQ lunch together.
We would like to thank everyone who was involved in making this day such a special occasion for all of us.
